At The Hundred Acre Wood Farm and Forest School, we believe nature is one of the greatest classrooms a child can have. Time spent in the woods offers opportunities for growth that simply cannot be replicated indoors. As children build forts, explore trails, care for animals, tend gardens, and engage with the natural world, they develop confidence, resilience, creativity, and independence.
The benefits of regular time in nature extend far beyond physical activity. Children who spend time outdoors experience reduced stress, improved focus, stronger social skills, and greater emotional well-being. Through exploration, teamwork, and hands-on experiences, they learn patience, problem-solving, responsibility, and empathy.
Most importantly, children learn to slow down and discover the wonder around them. They develop a deeper connection to nature, a sense of stewardship for the world they live in, and memories that will last a lifetime.
Our goal is not simply to teach children about nature—it is to allow nature to help shape who they become.
Because childhood should be filled with adventure, discovery, imagination, and time spent beneath the trees.

Children will learn forest safety, explore woodland trails, and begin discovering and identifying the plants, animals, and signs of nature around them. Children will identify animal trails and set a trail camera to check in on our forest friends throughout the session.
Students will learn to identify common trees, leaves, seeds, and forest plants while creating their own nature journals.
Children will work together to build shelters while learning teamwork, creativity, and outdoor problem-solving skills.
Students will meet and care for animals, learn about wildlife habitats, identify tracks, and create their own casts of real animal tracks.
Children will explore the world of birds through observation, bird calls, nest building challenges, and a special bird feeder projects.
Children will practice beginner survival skills such as knot tying, navigation, nature scavenger hunts, and safe outdoor tool use.
Students will investigate streams, ponds, and springs while learning about aquatic life, water cycles, and conservation through hands-on activities.
Children will create nature-inspired crafts, play old-fashioned outdoor games, and learn simple homesteading skills through hands-on projects.
Children will become junior scientists as they conduct exciting hands-on experiments, explore the wonders of nature, and discover how science is happening all around them in the great outdoors.
Children will learn basic outdoor cooking skills, fire safety, and prepare simple campfire snacks while gaining confidence in the outdoors.
Students will put their outdoor skills to the test through team challenges, scavenger hunts, shelter competitions, and nature obstacle courses.
Children will revisit favorite activities, cook their own lunch, enjoy special outdoor games, receive nature explorer awards, and celebrate a successful season of adventure and discovery.

Fall 2026 Session
Our Fall 2026 semester runs September 9 through December 10, 2026.
We ask that families arrive on time for both drop-off and pick-up to help ensure a smooth transition for all students and to allow the day to begin and end as scheduled.
Enrolling Ages 3–12
To ensure each child has age-appropriate experiences and opportunities for growth, students are grouped by age:
🌿 Explorers (Ages 3–6)
Designed for our youngest adventurers, with plenty of hands-on exploration, sensory experiences, imaginative play, and guided discovery.
🌲 Rangers (Ages 7–12)
Created for older children ready for deeper exploration, outdoor skills, nature studies and leadership opportunities.

At 100 Acre Wood Forest School, we believe the best learning happens through doing. From building forts, maps, and birdhouses, to caring for animals and gardening, children learn confidence, responsibility, teamwork, and problem-solving through real experiences.

Our forest school was born from a deep belief that childhood is meant to be lived outdoors — with muddy boots, curious hands, and hearts full of wonder. As homeschooling parents, we have always believed that some of life’s greatest lessons happen outside of four walls, where children can build confidence, creativity, resilience, and imagination through real experiences in nature.

Hi! We're Katie Verducci and Victoria Weber, the faces behind The Hundred Acre Wood Farm & Forest School. We are both homeschool moms, and military veterans. Long before we were educators, we were childhood friends spending our days down at the creek, building forts, climbing trees, getting muddy, and coming home only when the sun started to set. Those memories shaped who we are, and they're exactly the kind of childhood we want to help preserve for today's kids.
We love to meet new friends, so feel free to visit while adventure is in session!
